A Message From Our Pastor

ImageWelcome to Mission San Luis Rey Parish’s first “non-emergency” Email Blast. I encourage you to take the time to browse through
and see the many opportunities that are offered for you to know
our parish better and to get involved.

Although there is much to "point and click" on this email, the most important link is the one labeled "A-Z". That best describes the diversity that characterizes Mission San Luis Rey Parish.

If I haven’t had the chance to meet you or your family, welcome! Please step up after any Mass I am celebrating and introduce yourself.

Thank you for making our Parish Community your spiritual home.

Fr. Peter Kirwin, OFM

Care About Youth

ImageA few months ago, our parish and six Oceanside churches initiated a project called Lift Every Voice for Youth. The purpose is to create more opportunities for Oceanside teenagers.

In May, youth and adults from the Oceanside churches met for a day of listening to our youth, and what we heard was profound. Many are struggling with issues like substance abuse, bullying, and violence at their schools. Many just want to see more positive activities that appeal to teens like dances. The good news is that our youth want to work with adults to make Oceanside better.

The Oceanside churches are meeting again on Tuesday, August 19th in the Serra Center at 6:30 PM. We invite youth, parents of youth, and all parishioners that care about youth to join us that evening.

For additional information, including a video of Oceanside youth talking about their concerns, click here.
