THANKSGIVING equals GIVING THANKS
We are now at the threshold of the Holiday season. This coming Sunday marks the beginning of Advent, a time of preparation and anticipation. As we once again approach this special time of the year it gives each of us time to pause,
time to think, time to truly recognize and note the many blessings that often may be taken for granted, but encircle us. Often we become so intent on what we do not have that we fail to recognize all that we do; together let us take that pause and reflect on those treasures in our midst.
Old Mission Montessori School continues to be very blessed with a growing number of children, parents and of course our community at Mission San Luis Rey Parish! This blessing has always been evident, but there are times we are
just in AWE of the generosity combined with the compassionate hearts of our community! We truly are blessed to be part of this parish and privileged to be the parish school; our parish is a definitely a very special place, a place where all are welcome!
So remember on Thursday, November 24th, relax, forget about the pressures, the uncertainties and simply enjoy being with your family, your friends, your community and GIVE THANKS to OUR LORD, for He provides our abundant blessings!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING from all of us to you and your FAMILY!

Saturday at 1:15 p.m. , fifteen families received an incredible
gift, a gift that will last a Lifetime as it is a GIFT OF A CATHOLIC
MONTESSORI EDUCATION! Amongst all of the applauds and
smiles fifteen families could not find enough words to express their gratitude to Mr. Tom Davis and his son Richard Davis for this incredible philanthropic gift on behalf of Adele E. Davis, wife and mother. What a beautiful tribute in her memory announced on Mothers’ Day weekend, a tribute that benefits so many families and children!
It is with our sincerest heartfelt gratitude that we on behalf of all families and OMMS faculty and staff say THANK YOU; we are truly blessed and honored with this gift not only from the Davis Family, but from all who contributed to this initial fund to make it possible for FIFTEEN FAMILIES; we are indeed Abundantly Blessed!
Our hope and desire is to continue to provide this opportunity to families in the future. WE would also like to extend our gratitude to the committee and thank all for their dedication and time! For your information all applicant Names and recipients are located in both the school and parish offices. — Wanda King, OMMS Principal

Many may already be aware as it was touched upon again this past weekend during Mass. Father Chuck announced that through the generosity of one of our parishioners, TOM DAVIS, we are establishing the TOM and ADELE E. DAVIS TRUST FUND to provide scholarships for students at Old Mission Montessori School. Mr. Davis spoke of funding 10 half-tuition scholarships over the next two years and he is hoping that his gesture will inspire other parishioners to make a similar commitment. When all of the information regarding this INCEDIBLEGIFT is known we will provide further details in anupcoming newsletter, but for now WE feel truly blessed!
