Each year, the resale jewelry boutique attracts crowds of
shoppers who support our parish school through their purchases
during the OMMS Christmas in July fundraiser. As the
boutique chairwoman for the 5th year, I can tell you that the
school is very grateful to the generous ladies who have donated
jewelry in past years. Once again, we are collecting
AND WE DO NEED YOUR HELP. If you have jewelry that you
never wear, please consider donating it to help the school
raise funds. We accept costume jewelry of any era, gold or
silver jewelry, broken chains and watches, and old rosaries.
Without your generosity ladies, there would be no boutique.
We rely entirely on parishioners for donations. THE
NEED HAS NEVER BEEN GREATER.

If you have a large collection or valuable pieces to donate, I
am happy to meet with you personally. You may also drop off

Help us to make a quality Catholic education available to
more children in our parish family!

Last year, thanks to the generosity of individuals and groups, we were able to make available 15 half-tuition scholarships to eligible students at our Parish School, Old Mission Montessori. In total, we were able to raise $30,000—at $2,000 per award. This has made a huge difference to our school families! Thank you so much!

This year, we would like to match that amount. To date,
we have already received $14,000 in pledges (or 7 half-tuition
scholarships) toward our goal of $30,000. Special thanks to
the Tom & Adele Davis Scholarship Fund and to the St. Michael
Fund (anonymous)! Awards will be announced by the
school scholarship committee in April and will be made on
the basis of need.

Help us to reach our goal of $30,000 or 15 half-tuition
scholarships for 2012! Each scholarship grant is $2,000, or
roughly half the cost of a basic tuition for one year. If you or
your organization would like to contribute to our Scholarship

The more "Fresh & Easy" receipts OMMS collects, the more money they will earn. If you have a receipt from "Fresh & Easy", please drop it off at the OMMS Office or the Parish

The School is raising funds to benefit physical education  and outdoor recreation. With your support we will be able to replenish playground and sports equipment and maintain the athletic field and outdoor physical activity areas.

For ONLY $17, you can purchase a ticket to attend one of
the most well known golf tournaments on the PGA TOUR –
Farmers Insurance Open. This ticket is good for a one-day
entry into the tournament ANY DAY during this weeklong
event. This is a significant reduction from the weekend ticket
price of $32 at the gate. And, Old Mission Montessori
School earns $15 for each ticket sold from this sale.

Our Old Mission Montessori School is looking for your “gently” used household items for our annual Christmas in July fundraiser. We accept new and used items, with the exception of clothing and shoes. Donations may be dropped off at the school between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Old Mission Montessori School will be taking orders for Polo and T-shirts displaying the San Damiano Cross
after the 10:00 Mass today. Proceeds will go to benefit Our Lady Of Guadalupe Sport Court and the school. Order forms
will then be available in both the parish and school offices.

OMMS had not participated in a Casino Night for a number of years prior to revisiting this event last
year and after seeing everyone having such a FABULOUS time we wondered why not! Remember
this time our venue will be the El Camino Country Club on February 11, a Friday evening to spend with
that special someone perhaps enjoying Valentine’s Day a little early celebrating with a delicious dinner,
dancing, Casino games and a Live Auction! This particular event is for Adults only so come prepared
to have FUN!

Our PTG continues to work on this fun filled evening and there are still opportunities for sponsors so if
you know of someone who would like to be included as an inexpensive way to advertise their business or you have a business you would like to advertise or if you have an item you wish to contribute for the Silent Auction then please feel free to contact our PTG Chair, Sandra Smith at 760-207-4271.

All who attended last year had an evening filled with good food, lots of laughter and plenty of ‘chips’ to test their gaming strategies! So remember to place your reservations and invite others to join in the
FUN!! 

Scholarship Update: Last week’s “Letter” contained an announcement of the establishment of the Tom and Adele E. Davis Trust Fund to provide scholarships for students at our parish school, Old Mission Montessori. The initial offer provided for the donation of $10,000 to be made available for five half-tuition ($2,000) scholarships….

Well, a lot can happen in a week. Since the original announcement, Mr. Davis has graciously offered to provide up to $10,000 in additional funding as a “challenge grant” to the parish. He has agreed to match dollar for dollar every donation received. That means we have the opportunity to provide up to 15 scholarships this coming school year. We have already received a $2,000 from one parish family. We need only four more such donations to meet our goal. Many thanks to Mr. Davis for his generosity…. And to you, our parishioners, for yours.

Take the family to dinner and support OMMS at the same time!  Come to Souplantation in Carlsbad Wednesday, November 17^th, from 5pm to 8pm.  Souplantation will donate 20% of your transaction back to our school. And if you purchase a Souplantation Scrip card, the school will make even more (cards are available for sale in the main school office)!  Souplantation is located at 1860 Marron Road (South of CA-78, West of El Camino Real).  Restaurant night proceeds benefit our school's Art, Music, Drama and Spanish programs.  We have raised more than $500 since the beginning of the school year.  Drop by the school office first.  You must have a flyer for our school to get the credit!

Old Mission Montessori School is collecting receipts from Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market.  Our School earns $1.00 for every $20.00 purchase you make!  Bring in your receipts to the School Office Monday thru Friday from 8am to 3:30pm.   The Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market receipt collectin will continue until December 31st.   Don't forget to mark your calendar for our "School Shopping Night" on December 9th.  If you shop on that day between the hours of 4pm and 8pm, the school will recieve 5% of the total sales during those hours.  We will also be on hand that evening to collect your receipts and thank you for your support!
