Mission San Luis Rey Parish Digital Media
With the awareness that many Catholic youth and adults are attending to blogs, wikis, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Second Life, MMORPGs and smartphone apps, Pope Benedict XVI has encouraged parishes to take up the challenge to use the new technologies of the digital age to go where the faithful are already congregating to spread the Good News and to "dialogue with the digital culture" of our world.

The pastor, staff and ministries at MSLRP, both individually and collectively, take advantage of the opportunities offered by the communications media as "pathways to intensify communion and to render more penetrating the proclamation of his word" (John Paul II, The Rapid Development, 2005) "Called to form and inform," Cardinal Bertone said, parish media has the further mission of contributing to the "proclamation of Christ and the opening of society to God."·
Digital Media also seeks to support the work of evangelization, service and faith formation through frequent, updated materials on the parish website and powerpoint programs before Mass.
